The history of Jeans dates back to 1871:
Jeans were invented by Jacob W. Davis in partnership with Levi Strauss & Co in 1871 and were patented by them in 1873.
Even though there are different styles in jeans but nowadays, speak of the devil is obviously ripped jeans or torn jeans or distressed jeans..
It was in the 60's when they began to see some ripped pants..
In those years, wearing torn clothes was a symbol of rebellion and was a breakthrough that was about to reach a decade full of changes.
Also known as “ Punk
Punk began life as an artistic movement..It was a cultural expression of anger, emotion, and volume.
The 70s punk movement launched an evolution in high street fashion, hairstyles, makeup, media, and politics.
Like any kind of alternative fashion, punk clothing began as a reaction.
Punk style stood up against capitalism, conformity, and “the establishment”.
People felt tired of the commercialism in the world and wanted to bring their society back to the reality of real, raw human life through fashion, hairstyles, and music.
Many designers like Helmut Lang or Tom Ford among others, began to customize ripped jeans, although slightly more discreet.
It was the Italian firm Dolce & Gabbana who presented this trend in one of their fashion shows again, with ripped pants, very worn by the thigh area and with that characteristic broken knee.
If you can claim your clothing makes a statement or stands up to “the man” – then, you’re punk.
#Rippedjeans was & is a symbol of rebellion. Men & Women decide what they want to wear; #Rippedjeans are not a disgrace.
